Something gorgeous this way comes. Polar musical worlds mix elegantly on Hide To Seek, the new single from Laura Misch. One of the most intriguing music discoveries of 2023, Misch seamlessly blends rich elements of experimental electro pop and jazz into an indie pop framework.
Laura scales the middle ground between Mitski and Kamasi Washington, two modern mega artists in their own right. Misch has that same potential and authentic impact. In a scene obsessed with groundbreaking creative heroes Misch makes her case. The artist has enjoyed critical acclaim. Currently on tour in the UK in advance of an upcoming album release, Misch has our vote to rise to the podium early next year. Say you knew her when.

Heavy Villainy is an expansive work with breakout potential. The new signal from ka lok gets an intricate choreographed music video featuring two modern dancers moving poetically in tandem with the songs progressive arrangement.
Featured in various urban settings and beneath the limelight, these dancers conceptualize the artists own creative journey. It shows how art seeps into the mundane routine patterns of daily life. That reality infects every obsessed creator, a practice processed through long manic nights behind their electric tools, trying to capture the complexity of these daytime visions and do them tangible justice.
ka lok flashes influences of jazz to match their inclination towards 80s nostalgia. The affect is cinematic and adapts nicely to their progressive art pop ethos. Ka lok should connect with fans of diverse electro projects like James Blake and Christine and The Queens.

B.Miles has announced the release of her second album and to celebrate she’s dropped the title track Different Pages. Arguably her best single yet, Different Pages bridges the gap between mid 90s pop-alternative and modern indie pop.
It’s a slam dunk arrangement full of relentless sonic treats and a stellar mix. It’s both a great song and intoxicating audio art. There’s evidence of Moby and The Verve heard in the groove design and immersive layers. The accompanying music video matches the appeal with a stylish color palette. It joins a streak of recent videos that magnify the artists depth and star quality. We can’t wait to hear the full LP, out 9/30.

Mayzie drops an abstract dream pop gem with their new single Changes. The song has all the melodic shine and sparkle known to icons like Beach House, but with the bands own signature tempo design and characteristic vocal style. The tempo reference is most prominent in the verse section, as the chorus adapts more conventional.
There’s more that makes Changes special, including its full band ethos and climactic sonic fury. At times the mix peaks brilliantly, adding electric dust to the collective presentation. Effective as digital but made for vinyl, Mayzie is a sure thing for indie fans addicted to dreamy experimental layers.
