Mass Minor caught our attention with the rare infectious design of their new single Worthy (Dark Mode).  This is the most effective combination of vintage NIN and synthwave we’ve heard.

Sonically delicious and insanely catchy, the group nails every detail.  The sounds are collectively intriguing, the mix is aggressively punchy, and the vocal has dynamic emotion.  It heavily tags their influences without feeling like a replication.  Its a solid dose of retrofuturism, one we endorse wholeheartedly.

Our admiration for Waves_On_Waves knows no bounds. Heavily influenced by retro pop and possessing proficient production skills, the Hollywood producer continues to attract some of the best in contemporary pop, enlisting them in exciting collaborations that are consistently radio ready.  The new collaboration with Andy Fox fits the mold.  A cosmic electro pop jam, Project Inadquency merely tags an influence of synthwave while evolving into something entirely new.  Embracing the influence of Depeche Mode the two artists find common ground to explore their boundaries and seemingly smash through them.

It’s just one version of Waves_On_Waves touch as a producer, a detail of his artistry that repeatedly floors us.  For comparison dig into his new single You are everything I’m Not with Death By Algorithm and Katrine Stenbekk.  This emotive dark ballad bridges the auras of romantic gothic ballad and contemporary pop.  Cinematic and beautiful with gorgeous vocal performances through and through, Waves_On_Waves asserts his emerging dominance as the optimal collaborator.  It’s only a matter of time before the biggest names in music want in on the action.
