A dreamy midwest sunset fades on Gold, the new single from Best Western. Dream pop collides with indie folk on this delectable work. The intoxicating faded blend of the vocal absorbs itself into the cosmic Nashville atmosphere as a sneaky peppy groove pumps beneath. The acoustic guitar offers the foundational glue that holds it together, the one true glimmer of indie folk within this eclectic construction.
You can lose yourself to the vibe while finding yourself in the lyrical mirage. The narrative heard on Gold can’t decide if it’s running away or dedicating itself to existential discovery. Sounds real. The single was produced and mixed by Jon Low who worked with the National and Big Red Machine. Best Western, like them, sounds destined for indie greatness.

“I think I love you but I got figure out who I am and what life’s all about. I’m just a mess with my head in a cloud, and I’m trying to calm down.”
roger weeks takes a relatable sentiment and gives it melodic brilliance on their new breakthrough I think I love you. The statement is universally relatable. Love is scary in general, but young love is terrifying.
Currently going viral on #Swifttok, it makes sense that an emerging generation sees themselves in this work. Love has never been so complicated, and with the identity gates fully open this LGBTQIA+ artists offers an anthem to new modes in self discovery. Life is long and if you’re lucky full of changes both internally and externally. roger weeks knows that the best partner will give you a chance, to let things happy when you’re ready. And if you decide that love comes to you in a new way, they’ll support you.

An influence of alt folk grows up on Pinocchio, the new single from jer. The delightful harmonious chord writing, accentuated by the artists heavy sway, bears a semblance of Jose Gonzalez with emo inspired instincts. jer embraces so much of the indie-sphere without every shedding a glimpse of classic rocks influence. It’s a gorgeous updated adaptation. It bears an influence of Elliot Smith where Neil Young used to be. We don’t deny he probably loves Neil Young, but he’s merely a footnote of this sound.
This is the next phase for acoustic rock, an upgrade from Alex G. It brings fury where sadness made its fortune. jer brings voicings from emo indie punk alternative through his acoustic and the melodic attention is brilliant. The poetic yearning from his vocal performance adds to the sentiment.

Tamra caught out attention with the melodic innovations heard on Omens, Silos. Melodically unconventional while still presenting catchy and delicious, it recalls the works of cult indie icons like Grizzly Bear and Yeasayer.
The video is equally trippy and notably creative (see above). Like some kind of universal anomaly physical burdens of the unconscious appear then disappear on a plot of desert land. Much like their music, there’s a conversation in this piece. All these images, somehow connected, paint a bigger picture. They mirror our real life obsessions. Perhaps you call them phases. You’ll see yourself in part of this story, or maybe in all of it. We know we did.
