One of our favorite projects of the last year has to be the duo that calls themselves Illiterate Light. We were floored by their breakthrough single Hellraiser, which lead us to their live show where our fandom only grew stronger.
The new single Don’t Settle Down honors the energy of that performance. It adds some garage blues inspired flair, bearing evidence of The White Stripes with even some Led Zeppelin vibes mixed in. We also hear evidence of a classic cult underground band called The Music. Don’t Settle Down fits in well among their collective canon, and should help bring the right kind of fans to their altar.

Cochlear Kill drops an epic breakthrough single with their new release Ruminescent. It’s a glorious blend of shoegaze and new wave style 80s alternative. It’s heard in the melodic inclinations and sonic design.
The guitar playing is full of feeling, as the notes thrash and burst our of the record emphatically. The immersed trademark shoegaze vocal mix adds an intoxicating atmospheric glue, adding elegant contrast to the thrash of the music. Bright sparkling leads break through with shimmering nostalgic brilliance. Ruminescent is truly magnificent.

Velvet Graves assert themselves as stylistic Post Punk masters with the release of their new 10 song album Damage Control. Songs like Time To Kill feature trademark vintage guitar vibes while adapting with the singers emphatic genuine delivery. He brings a flash of indie pop to match the post punk appeal.
The vibe adapts with psychedelic slowcorew swagger on songs like Fountain Of Youth. It’s all a facade in advance of the big screaming outro. Big washes of reverb tie the collective record together, offering a blend of dreamy intoxication. You can lose yourself within its dreamy appeal or let it energize your repressed inner fury.
No matter how you take it, Velvet Graves Delivers.

We were drawn into the whiplash progressive contrast heard on Resolving Sound the new single from Little Fang. The trademark wordless chorus erupts out of the disaffected vocal heard in the verse section. It adds to the cinematic drama and applied fury.
The rhythm guitar part is played with refreshing conviction. The affect is energizing and exciting. We hear evidence of early Bends era Radiohead and how Johnny Greenwood captivated audiences with his ferocious playing. Rock still has some legs left, Little Fangs should be part of that revival.
