Eileen Torrez entranced us with the dreamy heartbreak vibe of her new single I Don’t Care. A blend of folk and Nashville bred Americana offers elegant contrast, with the finger picking recalling Dylan and Paul Simon while the lap steel offers the aura of a Tennessee Sunset.
Eileen’s vocal style scales both worlds genuinely, at times flaunting a Southern tremble and then alternating to a more introspective delivery, especially in the songs closing moments. It resonates with the mixed feelings this narrative offers, mourning loves demise while embracing the burden that was lifted. It’s a relatable experience captured convincingly on this gorgeous release.

Beneath the surface of commercial breakthroughs lurks indie folks next great singer. To whom replicants will arise in influenced tribute. That artist is nelleke, and for us she is truly unforgettable. From contemporary to experimental she has effectively scaled the spectrums known to singer songwriters convincingly. Her latest terracotta flowers harkens to the effect of Joni Mitchell or Jeff Buckley. Like them she is rare and entrancing, existing here as an observer and able to document our feelings with a melodic instinct that incites rumors that reach rulers. In ancient times the nelleke’s of the world would be summoned by kings courts, called to their altars to celebrate in festival or honor their legacies.
Lurking so far under the radar we must assume she prefers life out of the limelight but we won’t admit we’ve lost our touch. Nelleke is a star the world needs to catch up to.

Bossa nova and traditional island music collide with an influence of psychedelic folk pop on the catchy new single from Maria De Val. The song None Of Us Cannot Be Wrong is elite nostalgia. The artists Italian roots adds to the intrigue, injecting her countries own classic tendencies into this intoxicating blend. It’s a charming exotic appeal, a lost treasure known to classic musical cinema.
You can imagine De Val herself trailed by a courting lover on some beachside holiday resort lip syncing the song elegantly as the camera follows her gaze. Elegant, being the prime detail to highlight the songs cabaret Nancy Sinatra appeal. We absolutely adore it.

Avi Kytes caught our attention with their new single Cult. An elegant blend of classic and modern, the artist poetically dresses his record with imaginative samples that echo electro pop. Brought into this indie folk style they add cinematic flair to the collective design, like a frame of a world building in tandem with the songs emotional progression.
The production honors a great composition at its essence, as the calculated picking immerses you in its melodic warmth. Just the guitar and his voice offer enough serenity for a coffeehouse serenade, but paired with the production Cult evolves like a journey. The artist offers that “Cult is an exploration on love between two opposite worlds, told from the perspective of blindness and naivety. It retains the innocence of a love story while slowly hinting at the inevitable clashes between beliefs.”
Avi Kytes is the brainchild of London based songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist, Alex Rigueiro. Originally from Barcelona, Avi Kytes is a personal exploration on human emotions, social confusion and the inner conflicts of our daily life. Their music has been emerging in buzz indie circles, with notable shares from notable sites EARMILK and Purple Melon Music. Don’t worry, you’re still early.
