The Dead Cassettes made us instant super fans with their new single I Will Follow. It’s a testament to the singers rare raw emotive delivery and how it graces this indie rock framework. What are they saying? What are they singing about? We couldn’t care less. It’s about a feeling, one they emote effectively.
I Will Follow is a pure rock song and its presentation is indebted to the vitality of the performance, the notion that something was given up to document this moment. We know there are only so many times you can put yourself out there like this before your body gives up on you and your voice breaks from collateral wreckage. Keep it like a token and turn to it in times of strife. Maybe Band of Horses or Strand Of Oaks could win some comparisons but when it comes to this voice The Dead Cassettes stand alone.

If you’re looking for melodic shoegaze you can’t do much better than From My Tiny Room, the new single from Precious Neophyte. The band is fronted by a DIY Chicago musician from Seoul, and their vocal style effectively reflects their native heritage.
While the rhythm guitar and thrashing drums add a raputurous underlayer, the softly delivered vocal graces legibly over the mix in spite of shoe gazes atypical reverb buried delivery. The contrast adds to the collective beauty, that blend of chaos and comfort with some added drum fills to keep it classic. We adore it.

WOTTS strikes again! This Ottawa indie export has caught our attention with a string of intriguing singles that flaunt their melodic prowess and inventive creative touch. Their new single be kind stays true to form. It’s a rich production with sonic treats sprinkled throughout.
Every contribution is thoughtfully treated to add to the rare sonic aura, as if every song lives in its own designed world, slightly reminiscent of the last with subtle tweaked details. In that manner their catalog stays within a scope while never presenting repetitive. It’s a testament to their DIY full on aesthetic, where the duo is steer heading every part of the process.
These 90s psych jangle pop feels recall an influence of Cocteau Twins, Supergrass, and The Verve with an added indie sensibility known to Alvvays and George Clanton. We dig it immensely.

If King Gizzard and Devo had a baby it might sound something like Dotted Line, the new single from Faster Than Light. Dotted line is both quirky and clever, both frantic and intentional. In that manner it’s righteously complicated with some clever compositional quips that sneakily realm into unparalleled chromatic territories, but only for a moment. It’s part of its charm, as it excitingly whips into new ideas just as you kinetically grasp its design.
This kind of smart psych rock appeals to the new indie fan looking for something outside their scope of understanding, but we think Faster Than Light is so fun it will pull in most from the broad indie spectrum.
