Only 22 years old, ROSIE has a wise contemplative pen. It’s heard in the visionary poetry that makes up her new holiday standard It’s Not Christmas. Inspiring comparisons to the indie folk charm akin to Lizzy McAlpine, ROSIE inserts an influence of bedroom indie folk into your holiday playlist.
The moments described in It’s Not Christmas are relatable but less travelled in song. In that way ROSIE speaks to a wide audience looking for new late night holiday anthems, when the family leaves and your left to your devices. Press play on our playlist, we’re here for that.
It’s Not Christmas is a true Rare Holiday Gem.

Christmas gets a synth pop anthem courtesy of Ballsy. Cleverly titled omg it’s xmas, Ballsy offers a chance for post punk retro pop nuts to embrace their inner holiday fandom.
Ballsy is the solo venture of Caveboy’s synth-bassist Isabelle Banos. On her new holiday classic she embraces some of the melodic charm of Blink-182 with a nostalgic 80s alternative sensibility known to The Cure or more appropriately The Waitresses. Enjoy!

If you’re going to reimagine a holiday classic you can’t do much better than Replica and their version of Deck The Halls. This dreamy wave inspired version immediately triggers nostalgic emotions. It’s an inspiring affect, the kind of song that’ll get you to spend that little extra on someone special.
There are smart melodic cues that remind us of Jimmy Eat World’s Clarity in a synthwave framework. Paired with the female vocal stylistically it reflects the works of NINA or Dana Jean Phoenix. For us it’s a Macy’s dead ringer, at least we hope it is. We much prefer it to most other versions.

Power pop gets a proper holiday update on the new single from Dan Miraldi, aptly titled Christmas (I Think I’m Gonna Be Sad). The vibe channels the aura of the Traveling Wilbury’s and their associated batch of Jeff Lynne produced 80s classics. Miraldi invades a Jangle Pop sonic theme with a cheeky holiday narrative. The single seems destined for a late night dive bar serenade. We hope it catches on.
This is our kind of bumbling sing along, unabashedly joyous in how it celebrates its self loathing. That twist offers a healthy distraction without disregarding these truths. Miraldi won’t make your fake it, but he can help warp it fun.
