There’s something revelatory about All In, the new single from Maise May. It’s an interesting conversation piece, one that feels very much in this moment. It’s investigative in how we assume it metaphorically channels a flurry of institutional corruptions, from social media to tinder to the loss of novelty. We hear all of this in the lyrical tone and internal strife.
As a singer May stretches her range impressively, injecting emotion and urgency. The production matches her infectious presence, with dynamic production that lands aggressive and assertive. For us she blends the stylistic realms of The Japanese House, St Vincent, and Samia. It’s a testament to her creative sonic touch within an infectious melodic construct.

Big Search embraces his troubadour folly with his new single Loose Ends. This broken journeyman anthem embraces its vulnerability in spite of the peanut galleries condemnation. It emulates the complexities within this new art conundrum, reflecting an American society where the artists journey is seen as a selfish agenda.
Big Search offers this poetically and with a melancholy feel. There’s a nostalgic sensibility to the recording. For us it resides somewhere between classic full band Dylan, Wilco, and Dr Dog. We can dig it.

Jack Moy caught our attention with his new single Outgrowing You. Featuring convincing contributions from singer estherlivia, Outgrowing You repeatedly gets under your skin. The duet offers cinematic significance, like a musical conversation between the two artists.
His performance is soulful and emotionally desperate while hers is more introspective and assertive. It’s a gorgeous contrast, much like the dynamic between the melody and the emphatic percussion layers. Stylistically it bridges the realms of David Gray and Billie Eilish. It’s a hit.

Hollywood gets turned inside out within the warped abstract brilliance of California King, the new single from bail bonds. The production embraces this affects altered state, one that vibrates on the brink of collapse before finding its footing then spiraling down again. The project reminds us that it’s the artist that makes these tools sparkle, pushing the realms of audio tech furiously to a point that most imaginations can’t reach.
In that way it’s very much its own sonic world, married to the songs cinematic imagery. “Chasing blood money like a bloodhound…”. We all know the type. The project connects with the stylistic works of Eyedress and Dijon. We find it exhilirating.
