Perhaps you are looking for a song called “Presents”, but Thomas Hammerton and Courtney DuBois know the holidays are truly all about Presence. They offer a new dreamy holiday classic meant to honor the time it offers us to spend with family.
Stylistically we hear the legacy of Carole King with an indie sensibility akin to Feist and Cat Power. From the timepiece piano to the lap steel swoons we found ourself fading into holiday bliss. With her voice as our guide we are reminded, “It doesn’t cost a dollar to make someone feel loved… it’s Christmas; your presence is enough.” Thank you.
Don’t skip the charming live studio performance.

The Nat King beloved classic The Christmas Song gets a groovy update from German psych jazz export Lords of Lounge. The stylistic re-work takes cues from classic dub, Motown, and Meters era funk. More recently it connects with a realm known to Khruangbin. Like their work, Lord of Lounge swings in a way that could pull in a diverse spectrum of fans.
Their version is fit for any holiday playlist, and it’s delectable enough to sit right next to the beloved classic without sounding repetitive. It’s the melody of the season, and these musicians have a that touch. It’s a touch that smiles through their instruments. The envy of bankers and financiers who’ll never know the simplicity of a musicians joy.

Halover and Elijah Gregory team up for an indie folk rendition of the McCartney classic Wonderful Christmastime. If you’ve ever wonder what the synth pop classic might sound like in the drawing room then you need to tune in. The Hanover/Gregory version sounds like a rom com mid movie walk in the park montage as two admirers drift into their sadness. We love duets and the cinematic daydreams they inspire. Nestle under the tree and reminisce.
