From the onset a rare drum solo pulls you in to Repeater, the new single from KINO MOTEL. The single is a convincing dose of indie rock, one that blends it influences gloriously. We hear stylistic reference to early Radiohead and Spoon colliding with modern inferences known to Heartless Bastards and Idles. Like all of them Repeater is blessed with superb tone throughout.
From the drums to the guitars to the voice, every facet of the mix breathes life into the record. The duo has intriguing foundings, having met in a commune and adopted their namesake after a karaoke bar in Vietnam. With jams this legit, the serendipitous appears destined. KINO MOTEL is the real deal.

We’re always excited to celebrate our fellow Philadelphians. Recently we were drawn to the weight of the world, a new single from grungy Indie pop amalgamation naive nature. A dirty noise aesthetic only enhances the immersive melodic presence, not unlike how Clairo couldn’t escape her pop sensibilities on the breakthrough single Sofia.
To be fair naive nature is notably grittier and melodically abstract. The vocal commits to a filtered design, for us emulating the affect of a telephone or a receiver. It serves the message of this daunting work, as the singer feels emotionally crushed at the threat of loss in this interpreted breakup anthem. We’re into it.

PrivacyClub caught our attention with their new single Into A Flower. The infectious post punk influence collides into an indie rock sensibility with catchy contrast. The repetitious vocal style gets under your skin, it’s incredibly addictive. The singer bears an emotional vulnerability akin to early Kings of Leon, then adapting with careful melodic precision in the chorus and bridge. Stylistically we think its bridges the aesthetics of The Cure and Idles. We thinks it fantastic.
