LA underground icon NappyHigh enlists some heavy hitters for his new single From The Projects. Perhaps you’re familiar with icons Raekwon the Chef and Westside Gunn. OG Wu Tang member Raekwon reminds us he hasn’t missed a step on this killer new track. Griselda Records co-founder Westside Gunn is just as lucid. These urban poetic geniuses should be on their way out but 25 years later they’re still crushing the game. Age is just a number.
Find that boom bap old school sound straight from the source. From the Projects is a banger. NappyHigh is worth the endorsement, the new album Menace is a serious statement in rap.

Today’s Griselda appreciation continues with the anthem that is Cemetery, the new release from Burn Herm. Feat the producer and Griselda alum Denny Laflare as well as underground genius MC Phinelia, Cemetery brings killer classic east coast boom bap vibes. Fans of artists like Daniel Son and Sun Eastwood will find it undeniable.
Catchy with stylistic flexes, flashy alliteration, and a percussive cadence; everything gets burned to the core with their unfiltered flow. Dig in.

Jeristotle plays the soothsayer on his buzz worthy new single They Sold Me On TV. The under the radar conscious genius blends descriptive imagery with a candid stylistic flow. Heavily influenced by fellow Virginia natives Pusha T and Pharrell, catchy is just Jeristotle’s nature.
That catchiness comes with an expressive verbal prowess, with a lyrical pen ready to dissect complications of his modern experience.

Now for something completely different. We’re not typically into positive hip hop but there’s a raw authenticity to I Am The Love-Man that really grabs us. The new single from Love-Man might be his mantra. Stylistically its richly eclectic and in its final soft ukulele driven moments trends fairly contemporary in a way that won’t connect with grimey boom bap fans, but if you approach music with an open mind we can’t imagine how you won’t love it. Love-Man is truly entertaining and a joy to listen to.
On the rap side its loosely connects with the catchy vibes known to early Eminem and Outkast, while the group shouts suggest an indie influence of Petey. Then there’s the contemporary Hawaiian reggae blend. Sounds intriguing? It is.
