Best New Indie – Boko Yout x boerd, Amy Correa Bell, Brimheim, Mary Middlefield

Something special is happening between singer Boko Yout and producer boerd.  Existing as a collaboration but striking as something more, the duo embellishes their reputation for ear catching singles with the release of Lavendel

Flirtations in trip hop collide with melodic realms of indie pop within this delectable project.  Breaking through language barriers Lavendel has an exotic feature to match its universally harmonious catchy nature.  Boko Yout boasts a rich dense vocal delivery worthy of international stardom.  He’s catching on too.

Amy Correa Bell – Run It (Beat Ventriloquists Remix)

Amy Correa Bell and Beat Ventriloquists team up for a remix of Bell’s single Run It.  The outcome is simply brilliant.  Amy Correa Bell is a revelation.   She owns every facet of her raw sultry delivery, adding a stylistic percussive cadence that brings an additional rhythmic element beyond the melody.  It’s a stabbing affect, one that cuts through like a knife to the heart of the matter.

The remix is a crossover smash that could equally draw in fans of indie pop, retro wave, and commercial pop.  We even hear some of the alt R&B vibes known to SZA.  Hear for yourself.

Brimheim – Normies

Brimheim is fairly bizarre and undeniably catchy in a way that recalls the brilliance of breakthroughs like Kate Bush and The Eurythmics.  She embraces her palettes David Lynch affect wholeheartedly within the video for her new single Normies.  The video’s a smash in both narrative and how it reflects the aura of the lyrics.

Brimheim is a true star, arising as a multi dimensional artist in the realm of Lady Gaga.  We find her beautiful and refreshingly unique.  Her talent as a recording artist only amplifies that admiration.  Flying under the radar, this multi-faceted project is catching on.  From the music to the imagery, everything is in its right place.  Check it out.

Mary Middlefield – Heart’s Desire

Mary Middlefield continues to adapt convincingly, pushing her creative exploits further with the release of her new single Heart’s Desire.  Initially presenting as an indie folk darling, Middlefield experienced a stylistic epiphany.

There’s a coming of age sensuality, or perhaps the byproduct of some heartbreak that elicited an added ferocity to her affect.  Heart’s Desire blends both realms elegantly, embracing both the creative pop magnetism of Kate Bush and the poetic production brilliance of fellow indie folk rebel Kathleen Edwards.  We like where this is going.
