Emerging Folk – Niamh Regan, India Ramey, Martha Rose, Steven Bowers

Niamh Regan lands exotic on her new single Music.  The Irish singer has a rare timbre.  It resonates with her homelands iconic tradition.  The great singers of Ireland just hit different.  Regan adapts that inspiration with an indie sensibility in the vein of Feist, Sharon Van Etten, and Norah Jones.

They’re all icons in their own right, but Regan is worthy of the association.  Her new song Music is the kind of crossover hit that’ll pull from the underground and the mainstream.  It’s got real radio potential.  It’s epic and dynamic in the vein of the aforementioned artists landmark work.

This kind of composition can explode in an arena or soothe you in the songwriter’s lounge.  No matter how you take it one things for certain, Niamh Regan is a revelation.  In contrast to the lyrics premonition, this song will find you saved.  Music does do it for you, in fact it’s all you need.

India Ramey – Ain’t My First Rodeo

Rhinestones, tassels, and your finest boots should be donned when you enter the altar of an India Ramey performance.  The rodeo sweetheart lands iconic yet again on her convincing new single Ain’t My First Rodeo

This an’t nostalgia, this is the real thing.  It’s the kind of quivering vibrato and trademark twang sure to swoon every heart in the room.  The band honors her golden voice with a fantastic performance full of period perfect licks and energetic conviction.  We’re dying to see her in concert.  She might be your best chance to visualize the prime of Dolly Parton.

India Ramey is also a sure thing for fans of Margo Price or underrated mainstream darling Reba McEntire.  This is a timeless sound no matter what you’re into.  Ramey has her own bizarre Rodeo punk inspired visual twist too (seen in the video above). We love it.

Martha Rose – Chin Up

We found ourselves immersed in the comforting bliss of Chin Up, the new single from Martha Rose.  We’re guilty of bypassing this narrative in exchange for its soothing melancholy.  Rose and her band embrace you like a blanket, with Martha’s voice personified as the master seamstress.

She’s winding the finest silk encouragement in reflection of her lyric’s motivational spirit. If you get lost, turn to this song to help you be centered.

The music flows over your elegantly.  It’s a testament to the soft tones and sweet arrangement.  Everything is in its right place within this intoxicating aura.  Stylistically it connects with an influence of Jessica Pratt and Alice Phoebe Lou.

Steven Bowers – Back into the Light

Steven Bowers drops a sentimental gem with their recent Back into the Light.  This cinematic dreamy vibe resonates like a vision of the afterlife.  It’s that retrospective omnipresence conjured from a life well lived, as you reconcile with the lost of loved ones and the moments you missed.

Bowers penned the song as tribute for a friend who lost her mother.  It’s a gorgeous memorial and a milestone performance.  Back Into The Light connects with the relatable songwriting familiar to Dawes, John Prine, and Neil Young.
