Joëlle Buyckx reigns infectious on her impressive new single Waste My Love. Her voice is simply intoxicating. You can melt into this retro pop vibe. It’s major nostalgia within a modern dance pop aesthetic. In that way she connects with retro breakthroughs by The Weeknd, Due Lipa, and The 1975.
The underground community can’t deny her, but Buyckx is truly a star who won’t be contained. And with her countries rich tradition in Italo Disco, we’re guessing she’s catching on. Get into it.

Color Theory has progressed beyond the realms of retro nostalgia. He’s entering new stylistic worlds where the influences are evident, but the aura is something completely unique to him. It’s heard in his recent release Stop Breathing. Certainly the 80s still have some stake in this design, but there’s more inspiration and his own rare touch in this work.
It’s an infectious vibe within a curious sonic construct. It’s a testament to the designs soft, careful essence. The sounds are both soothing and vibrant. Stylistically it connects with the art retro works familiar to Talk Talk or more recently Nation of Language. Personally it’s our favorite work from him yet.

Mayflower Madame captured some rare nostalgia on their anthemic new single A Foretold Ecstasy. Everything is in its right place on this captivating release. From the vocals, to the radiating guitar tones, to the push of the rhythm section; A Foretold Ecstasy leaves you wanting more.
This kind of vibrant darkwave cites underground icons The Cult with some of the added emo appeal of The Cure. The band also connects with the minimalistic post punk work of DIIV. We also hear similarities to new underground buzz band Korine. Mayflower Madame dropped a brilliant release worthy of high praise. Check out the music video (above).
