“Summer’s a state of mind, cause the sun don’t come here. Don’t you know it’s always rain here.” Perhaps you can relate to this sentiment. I feel like we’ve all had that bogged down experience at some point. Perhaps on an anticipated vacation that gets robbed by bad weather.
A decadent indie folk vibe at its essence, The new single from Rhona Macfalane get’s immortalized in a gorgeous music video. The portraits scene in July Rain are full of magnetic grace and joy. It cites a bygone existence, away from the burdens of phones and constant envy. It lives in the moment. Embrace all of it.

Flower Face refers to herself as a Goth-Folk Artist. On her new single Skeleton Key, it’s less about traditional goth influence and more about the visual aesthetic. It’s a consistent contrast she’s offered in a series of recent music video releases.
It’s a David Lynch kind of dark horror twist. In that way she’s like an alt folk Ethel Cain, and her music has that same crossover brilliance. Flower Face is simply brilliant; we’re confident she’s headed for super stardom.

Big Search embraces his robust voice on his new single Bouquet. He channels an influence of Bob Dylan while staying true to his natural timbre. Within an indie canon we also draw similarities to Father John Misty, while contemporary notes cite Cohen and Neil Diamond.
It’s a gorgeous stylistic scope we were immediately drawn to. Check out the music video by Danielle Wakin above. Bouqet is an instant classic.

Esme White is an imaginative songsmith. She brings an exhilirhating abstract detail to her work while retaining a graceful approachability. Her new single Tomorrow Never Comes In A Daydream blends a dustbowl rodeo vocal style with an indie aesthetic. It honors self described influences like Fiona Apple and PJ Harvey and imagines the havoc they might have offered to the Edward Sharpe troop.
Considering the context, it all makes sense. White offers that the song is about an airplane in her brain with an unknown destination. Fly on!

One Adam One caught our attention with their new single Monday Morning. The title track from their new 5 song EP, Monday Morning embraces the classic melancholy laurel canyon feel of Neil Young with an indie feel familiar to Wilco. It just one highlight from a gorgeous collection.
Other highlights inlcude Sideways Sundays, which features the current Son Volt guitaritst. The legacy of Gram Parsons and the aforementioned Young ring through this work. The song contains some lyrical intuitions that hit home. “Passing the yellow cigarrette lighter, everyone’s your friend.” We love it.
