Best New Rock – Soft No, bloococoon, Jimmy & the Veil

Soft No already had us full invested with the sonic fury of their new single Melting Timelines. But if you need more reasons to love them, then we recommend giving full attention to their new music video. The band has great energy and their lead singer is a magnetic star.

Soft No – Melting Timelines

Soft No are officially high on our list of bands to see live. They’re a sure thing for fans of classic grunge and indie rock innovators like Mannequin Pussy. Soft No is anything but, they’re a pretty version of hard and heavy.

bloococoon – Blossom Like a Rose

The band bloococoon truly knows how to Blossom Like A Rose. The sentiment is elegantly personified in their single by the same title. The band represents their influences intriguingly, citing the polarities of Massive Attack and My Bloody Valentine as inspiraitons.

They do well to create an immersive distorted guitar based foundation for you to soak into. The vocal bears some trip hop influence while also citing 90s innovators like The Verve. Get into it.

Jimmy and the Veil – Diamonds

Jimmy & The Veil are anthemic on their recent single Diamonds. We were drawn to how they employ synths into their alt rock influence. When the vocal erupts into the vocal sections, it’s invigorating.

Stylistically they bridge the gap between Linkin Park and A Perfect Circle. We can dig it.
