We were entranced by the hypnotic nostalgic appeal of Help Me Out, the new single from Tyler Ballgame. The inspired vocal performance is all about a feeling. Stylistically he bridges the gap between My Morning Jacket, JD McPherson, Orville Peck, and Father John Misty. Like all of them his sound recalls the influence of Roy Orbison.
On his new release he does well to find some fresh energy and avoid being derivative. The arrangement is glorious as the instruments play within and around each other in salute to the masters. The Ukulele is a nice touch too, citing classic compositions that combine Rockabilly and island music.

The empress has new clothes on Would It Be The Same Song…. The new single from Bluhm enhances the projects stylistic spectrum. It gives their collective catalog intriguing breadth. Stylistically its dreamy pysch pop serenade in the vein of Beach House or Men I Trust. There’s a classic psych folk pop aesthetic mixed in too. It’s enhanced by a lush emotive vocal performance and the trademark jangle of the main guitar.
That jangle tangles you in the bright harmonious ghostly atmospheric apparition. Lyrically, the disappointment feels like a warning, as if the protagonist is relieved to validate her suspicions. The truth will deliver you.

RHNO admits that they wrote their new single Epoch while watching the movie Blade Runner. What they take from that influence honors the movies futuristic quarrel. An existential gem that challenges our understanding of reality, Epoch feels caught between polar traditions. That sentiment is felt in both the vocal performance and in the warped piano solo.
That understanding that what is old is new again and so forth is for us its genius. Stylistically the project connects with projects like TENDER and Dijon. It’s an immersive eclectic indie pop highlight.

We love how Jaywon embraces the new and the traditional on their new single Time. A slow groove can’t dispel the seductive infectious appeal of the emotive vocal. The exotic aura recalls crossover roots songstress Tash Sultana.
As the music is broken by an unexpected pause, an inspired soulful voice breaks you out of your hypnotic trance. Suddenly the track hits different. A blend of English and Nigerian Yoruba, Time is an international breakthrough with major crossover appeal.
