Buddy Wynkoop is getting high on their own supply. That supply is an obsession with quirky post punk and eccentric classics. Their recent Stress Fracture is another master class in art punk.
Stylistically they’re bringing the Devo to a scene bent on Idles and Parquet Courts. We simply love it. The riffage is fresh too. There’s nothing cheap about Buddy Wynkoop, these ideas are expensive.

We adore the gritty grunge garage blend embraced by LIL DUSTY G. He combines that with an upbringing of pop and punk convincingly. His whole brand is displayed effectively in the video for his new single LOVE IS DISEASE.
If this is about a movement then we’re into it. Skater punks who dig rock. “What do I do,” he screams. Keep doing what you’re doing, cause we dig it This is the kind of leader we need. Do it.

You can still be classic and be cool. That’s how we felt about Shady Baby and their new single Held In. This rare riff filled delight recalls an influence of Silverchair and Smashing Pumpkins. It’s melodic with one foot in shoegaze and the other in grunge.
Combined with an acquired indie aesthetic and a penchant for rich guitar tones, Held In is an alternative rock revelation. The video adds to the swagger. Rock on.

If you’re looking to revitalize an organ movement in the realm of garage rock and post punk, then look no further than Sunny Daze & The Weathermen. Their new single Wax Lips is a rare classic. It’s got some rockabilly fever and reckless abandon.
There’s a semblance of Jack White or cool kid Ron Gallo, mixed with the eccentric nature of Osees or The Nude Party. We think it’s great fun for everyone. Dig in.
