Sara De Santis caught our attention with her recent single WINTER. Her intoxicating exotic nature suits this imaginative scope of influence. Stylistically she blends an influence of Joni Mitchell with the modern indie folk canon. It’s both beautiful and fleeting, as the composition seemingly flutters and flees like a free spirt.
This is a burst of inspiration she won’t conform to conventionality. The arrangement is ever moving and flys away before a chance for a redux. Why let a good thing fester. De Santis leaves you wanting more.

We fell for the narrative at the root of Tough Bones. The new single from Zane Penny features some impressive storytelling. The music’s spacial design puts the lyrics first. The vocal performance lends to its convincing nature.
A song where young people can see themselves and older people can remember their younger version. “Everything’s exciting, everyone’s just like me. Her rejection was the worse thing I felt…” We know the feeling. A sure thing for underground indie folk fans and everyone on the surface.

Buried beneath childhood scenes of old homeade tapes wildwildsky recalls the aura of the season on his magnificent new single Winter Comes. Calculated picking from his textured nylon stringed guitar adds a harmonious backdrop. His voice is a comforting dreamy melodic guide. Stylistically he bridges the realm between Fleet Foxes and Paul Simon. We adore this vibe.

We got lost in lighthouse, the new single from lorelei hager. A slow and somber alt folk dreamworld can’t shake its sad essence. The fairly depressed aura feels appropriate contrast for the solace of a morning’s coffee comfort. It’s the proper Sunday scary dawn recovery soundtrack, cause you need a song but you’re just not ready to be peppy.
Stylistically it does well blending an influence of Elliot Smith or The Shins with modern sad abstract vibes known to indie folk. Hear for yourself.
