Emerging Folk – Teghan Devon, Dillon Havin, Big Suze, Amanda Bjorn

Teghan Devon embraces change on her new single Wander.  Her naturally hypnotic presence entrances you with candid charm.  It’s a testament to her uncompromised delivery.  Devon’s voice is simple and elegant.  In that manner it’s sneaky good.  Don’t sleep on her fantastic vocal ability.

She blesses that talent with a gorgeous composition about love’s complexities.  Where will you go and where might it take you?  Embrace the unknown.  Stylistically Wander should connect with fans of Norah Jones and Brandi Carlile.

Dillon Havins tickled our senses in the opening moments of his new single Hiding Place.  Paired with the singles cover photo, the moment warms you like an enchanted wintery wonderland.  This dreamy winter themed composition lands comforting.  Intoxicating melodic movements bring elegant surprise as the arrangement evolves excitingly.

It’s relentlessly refreshing and effectively stimulating.  Stylistically we think it’s a sure thing for fans of early Fleet Foxes, Lord Huron, and Sufjan Stevens.

Big Suze brings big charm to their new single Quiet Side.  The gentle careful delivery of the vocal feels harmless, while the clever arrangement offers a sly detail.

A smart makeup front to back, Quiet Side recalls the writing of Dr Dog within a Daniel Johnston inspired framework.  On record it brings a soft fury while suggesting a bigger impact in concert.  We’re way into it.

AMANDA BJORN is a true authentic on her new single Until We Become Earth.  In the songs first familiar moments it’s okay to activate the memory of “No Woman No Cry.”  After all, there are only 12 notes, and with that so many melodically pleasing combinations to serve as proper templates for our best singers.  Or maybe there’s a deeper meaning about the journey of womanhood, with AMANDA offering some new rhetoric to that canon.

Either way one thing is for certain, BJORN reenforces that the best singers can make any moment unique..  BJORN’s own smoky sultry timbre gets under your skin effecting.  With a little twang she’s a sure thing for fans of Norah Jones.  We love it.
