Sam Wray caught our attention with his new single Amy’s Bakery. There’s a candid emotional angst to this vocal performance. It bypasses the lure of convention in exchange for an untamed affect. You can barely make out the words beneath the burnout. It’s a testatment to the burning frustration that inspired this performance.
It’s a youthful conundrum, where the more important things in life actually take priority. Like relationships and actually living. Amy’s Bakery sounds perfect. Stylistically they bridge the gap between mid career Radiohead and Sam Fender. It’s a neat twist.

The Gromble Put an effective spin on the Smashing Pumpkin’s classic song Perfect. The song finds new indie life on this inspired cover. It retains its essence while evolving into new sonic realms on this honorable tribute.
The Pumpkins themselves have proved themselves to be more timeless than might have been expected. It seems like the young generation has an affinity for the early nineties grunge icons. Expect more effective tributes to come. For now, this one sits Perfect.

We rediscovered serenity in Golden, the new single from gonebymorning. This journey of a song could have been a slow folk ballad if not for the groovy energy brought by the drums. It’s an effectively contrast that emulates the fury beneath this kind of slow folk burn.
The dreamy arrangement reflects a Western hue, as distant crickets and nightly bugs and be heard churping among the atmosphere. The night glows electric on this gorgeous release. Stylistically we hear an influence of The Lumineers with some added Frank Ocean style soul. We can dig it.

Lint is truly epic. We love what we’re hearing from Geepers! The Long Beach based alternative pop project has all the ammo to rip a festival’s face off. Passion and energy get under your skin on this effective performance.
There’s an intriguing contrast and the singers polar timbre. The verse sections recall an influence of Beirut while the chorus sections are pure pop fury in the vein of Passion Pit or something more visceral. This would also connect with fans of emo pop crossovers like Petey. It’s a dense mix meant to burst through your speakers. It’s great fun.
