Hip Hop Discovery – Mickey O’Brien, EA$Y Money, Jahan Nostra, Alyssa Jane, Burn Herm

Plutocracy is an old school masterpiece. We dig the new collab between Mickey O’Brien, Lee Reed, Danny Miles, and Uncle Fester. Blessed with an old school beat that lands authentic, the new single recalls a time when beats were made with turntables. The MC contributions embrace that vibe impressively.

There are a bevy of relative mid nineties gangster rap groups baked into this vibe. Lyrically its a scathing retrospect on consumerism and how its plagued urban culture. The future’s been stolen, we need this kind of tirade.

EA$Y MONEY and Phinelia find their lucid pen on the new release Unforgiven. Infinitely inspired by this impressive beat, the two rappers spit fluid with daft musicality. The relentless verses see life from a secondary lense.

It’s able to dissect its mental process in real time, channeling their approach to the game with smooth fluidity. There’s a duality to their message. Stay true to the code and there won’t be any problems. Honesty is sacred, but break that trust and expect to pay the piper. How do you hear it?

A rap homage to Italy? It’s happening on Milan Flow, the new single from Jahan Nostra & Samir. Italy resonates with raps new glamorous shine. It sparkles in reverence of raps bling chain aesthetic.

This project goes so far as to tour some of the countries most treasured landmarks in the inspired music video. We think its a lot of fun and we enjoy the unassuming reference. Hip Hop is celebrated around the world, even Italians love it. Hear for yourself.

Philly stand us for our girl Alyssa Jane and her producer and frequent collaborator SV,. We’re huge fans of this fruitful partnership, and their new single Clocked is another righteous banger.

For us Alyssa resonates with the cities legacy for dynamic stars. Like Lauryn Hill or Jill Scott, Jane has an amazing voice while also bursting with urban authenticity. She can do it any way she wants, and she does. On singles like Clocked she flexes her versatility, and SV always provides the right textures to make her shine. Everything they do has radio potential.

Burn Herm caught our attention with their new single Soul Music. We were drawn the infectious nature of this delicious beat. Its triple dipped in seventies style soul and disco.

The music is super catchy on its own, but the verse is equally hypnotic. Its a catchy narrative about watching someone learn lessons the hard way while ignoring your wise advise. Incredibly well done, we’re big fans of this hip hop revival project.
