Sasha & The Bear drops one of their most sensual bangers yet with their recent single Crush. This smoky R&B indie pop blend lands prophetic, as all the words seem to fall in the right place on this inspired release.
Stylistically you can trace some influence back to Prince, adapted with a modern indie feel familiar to Charlotte Day Wilson or Christine and the Queens. It’s just another intriguing masterpiece from the fruitful duo that is Sasha & The Bear. Seemingly everything they touch is graced with an infectious catchy appeal. The sonic details are entrancing too. We simply love them.

Yttling Jazz offer a spirited remix of The Gambler, the recent signal from Abstract Crimewave and Lykke Li. Like a scene from an early 50s Big Apple Jazz session from Chet Bakers inner circle this remix feels birthed by the era of cool. The living and breathing presence of the tom’s tantric rumble compliments Lykke’s own smoky hypnotic magnetism.
The brilliance that is Bjorn Yttling gets into his feelings with the classic improvised essence of the vibraphone solo. You may know of him for his breakthrough success with indie pop trailblazers Peter Bjorn and John. The remixed single is one in a canon of side project offerings that stay true to the artists catchy reputation. Everything he touches goes down breezy.

Maggie Rogers is an impressive musical chameleon. Her recent collaboration with synth pop superstars Sylvan Esso threw us through a loop. The song is called Anthems For A Seventeen Year-Old girl and it’s a gloriously fantastic take on the Broken Social Scene classic. The two voices of Rogers and Amelia Meath blend elegantly while their polar personalities offer a cinematic trait.
This version is an electro crossover hit in the vein of Sylvan Esso’s foundational hits. It’s just as strong as anything in their catalog and likely to boost the perception of both artists. It’ll bring the Americana pop kids to the synth side and vice versa. We think it’s just the beginning. Rogers has poked her head on a few concert appearances with the duo, and with this single as evidence they must know something special happens when they collab.

To break the language barrier in pop. It’s a daunting quest only the most entrancing singers have achieved. We found that and more in Un-Autre,, the new single from &Tilly and Matt Matteo.
The singer from &Tilly is mesmerizing within every medium. Un-Autre finds her in a vulnerable soft indie variation, assumingly pleading for respite as is translated from the scenes in the music video.
The magic of this approach is that an international listener gets to write the narrative based on the emotional essence of the performance. In that manner &Tilly is the ultimate vessel, as every performance is ripe with an inspired emotional vulnerability. It’s addictive. Hear for yourself.
