Charlotte OC is back with her recent single release, “Romeo,” an indie pop banger bound to hit the charts. She blends excellent musicianship and production quality with authentic emotional depth carried through a wildly dynamic vocal performance. We love the harmonies and scattered vocal layering here, both techniques are used in a playful and reserved manner without being overdone.
Fans of Portishead will instantly connect with this artist’s music. A female-driven, experimental indie pop / indie rock project that harnesses the ability to convey profound emotion while keeping things both atmospheric and light. With her next EP dropping mid-July, we look forward to hearing more.

Up next is Coral Head. “Too Late To End,” an indie dark pop tune that features a myriad of unorthodox instrumentation and a vibe that can only be described as darkly ethereal. We love the melancholic feeling in this one. Moody vocal melodies washed in waves of reverb, a variety of stringed instruments complete with echo delay effects, multiple synth layers all working in a cohesively chaotic and poignantly eerie fashion.
We hear similarities to the music of artists like Billie Eilish and Melanie Martinez in this song, exemplified by their dreamy soundscapes, top-tier production, and intimate vocal style. If you are looking for a fresh sound in the dark pop / indie pop scene, Coral Head is an artist worth checking out.

Portland based indie band Adult Male Blondes recently caught our attention with their latest single release, “joik,” a truly experimental, spacey, and psychedelic sonic experience. Right off the bat, we hear influences from artists like Tame Impala and the Gorillaz. Breathy, moody vocals, masterful production quality, and an electronically driven groove are just a few elements in this tune that remind us of that newer, more alternative side of indie rock.
We love the transitions between sections in this one. The dynamic range of its instrumentation is powerful and commanding, juxtaposed with a softer, more lax vocal timbre to settle us nicely into each new portion of the song. Our only critique is that it ended too quickly. Keep them on your radar.

Indie folk singer-songwriter David Robert Pollock is immediately infectious with his recent single release, “Favors.” This one tugs at our heartstrings. Pedal steel guitar, raspy vocal lines, and acoustic instrumentation are employed here, all working harmoniously to create something fresh and exciting while retaining that classic, emotionally impactful folk sound. David manages to convey his lyrics about the struggles involved in redemption and self improvement with an uplifting, inspirational vibe that leaves us wanting more.
We hear a mix of Mumford & Sons and Noah Kahan in David’s music; fans of a more modern indie folk sound will instantly connect with his artistry. We highly recommend that you check out this up and coming folk artist and look forward to hearing more from them in the near future.
