UK band Sleepers Club is immediately infectious with their recent single release, “Done Sailing,” an upbeat and fresh take on the indie pop scene. This tune features a myriad of inventive instrumentation, combining ethereal synth tones with classic indie staples like overlapping and overdriven guitar tracks. The production on this one is worth noting here. Each instrument works cohesively to serve the vocal melody without overtaking or muddying the mix.
Fans of Florence & The Machine and The xx will instantly connect with this band and their refreshingly intriguing sonic capabilities. We love the vocals, both in timbre and in style; those who enjoy that edgy, female-driven indie sound will love them too. This band is worth keeping in mind and on your radar, we look forward to hearing more from them in the near future.

Up next is JEWLS, an emerging alternative/indie pop artist known for her thematic exploration of social issues like gender roles and social media in her music. Her recent EP release, “Fate or Fatal,” instantly caught our attention. The title track from this 3 song EP is the highlight, in our opinion. It showcases this artist’s ability to harness unique studio techniques that contribute to a larger, more meaningful and impactful song overall. Her use of panning, overlapping vocal harmonies, the electronic instrumentation, and dreamy and atmospheric overtones; we love it all.
Aside from the wonderful production quality in this track, the vocals sharp and emotionally powerful. We hear a mix of Hayley Williams and Reneé Rap in this artist’s aesthetic, moody musical style, exemplified by their electronically driven modern grooves, inventive studio techniques, and dynamic vocal performance. We dig what JEWLS has been up to recently.

Love Spells recently dropped a 6 song EP called The Love I Showed You Was Yours To Keep, a dreamy, mellowed out and intoxicating collection of songs that we love. One highlight is the third track “Bones and All,” an airy and emotional tune that symbolizes dark themes of emotional vulnerability and obsessive romance. We love the washy vocal melodies in this one, each line powerfully striking and slowly dissolving into the surrounding instrumentation.
We hear similarities to the music of Clairo and beabadoobee in this music, exemplified by the relaxed vocal timbre and modern instrumentation. Harmonies are flawless, the production is exceptional, and the vibe is on point. We highly recommend that you check out this fresh take on alternative/indie pop and the rest of Love Spells recent EP release.

“Like You Mean It,” the latest single release from emerging indie group The Flints, showcases a more ethereal and aesthetic side of indie pop that we really dig. The experimental, electronic instrumentation hits right at home for us. We are reminded of more modern alternative/indie pop artists like Tame Impala and the Gorillaz, exemplified by their lush sonic soundscapes and vibrant, inventive grooves.
Themes of bittersweet heartbreak and vulnerability are conveyed through an eclectic vocal style and cinematically striking synth tones. The Flints showcase an evolving writing style unbound by convention. They introduce different sections throughout the tune, changing the tempo and feel multiple times, keeping our ears intrigued and wanting more.
