Creepy Crawly is immediately infectious with their debut album release, Like A Real Thing. We love the fourth track on this record in particular. “All the Stars in the Sky” is a heartfelt, dreamy, and highly intoxicating indie folk tune that makes us feel nostalgic for fast times in early relationships. Wonderfully sung harmonies, incredible instrumentation, and a masterful production style further contribute to the emotions we feel when hearing this one.
The lead singer’s distinctive crystalline vocals guide listeners through ethereal dreamscapes, moments of eerie unease. Fans of bands like Fleet Foxes or Wilco will instantly connect with this band’s more modern take on the indie folk genre. We look forward to more album releases in the future, keep this band on your radar.

Up next is Cherry, the title track from Amanda Bjorn‘s recent EP release. We love the authenticity in this tune. We love Bjorn’s velvety and dulcet voice, belting goosebump-raising melodies that stir the soul. Her timbre is imperfectly authentic in the most exemplary manner, pairing nicely with raw acoustic instrumentals that flawlessly convey the heavy emotions behind her lyrics.
We hear similarities to the music from Angel Olsen or even Velvet Underground in this tune, exemplified by the intimacy they bring to the indie folk genre. Be on the lookout for her next album release this July.

Emerging Indie folk artist Cecilia Ebba recently released a new single called “Skin,” a melodiously moody and melancholic tune that brings something fresh and exciting to the modern folk scene. We love the unpredictable chord progressions in this one, keeping our ears actively engaged and ready for each new section. The lead vocals and additional harmonies are done incredibly well, packed with emotional pull and intimacy.
We think that fans of Clairo and Laufey will have no problem connecting with this artist’s style. The beauty in her production style is at the very least parallel to these contemporary musicians, and we highly recommend that you check out her music.

Alexis Cunningham closes us out with her intoxicating new EP, How I Became A Butterfly. We love “Wildfire,” the first track on the recent EP drop. This tune is a conglomeration of influences from different genres. We start off with classic folk stringed instrumentation and one vocal melody, slowly descending into a full band that utilizes ethereal synth tones and a number of intriguing studio effects.
We hear a mix of modern indie folk artists like Bon Iver and old school influences like Joni Mitchell in this artist’s musical style, exemplified by the experimental soundscapes and classic vocal timbre. We look forward to hearing more from Alexis in the near future.
