Alyssa Jane and SV have collaborated for their new song “Discourse.” The boom bap track is backed by sporadic piano stabs and brief saxophone licks. Alyssa Jane’s creative blend of both singing and rapping is both thrilling and absorbing. Her catchy melodies are sundered by lyrical verses with creative flows.
Alyssa Jane’s performance on “Discourse” is reminiscent of artists like Doja Cat and rising star Lexa Gates. SV’s smooth Boom Bap production that backs Alyssa Jane’s raps is refreshing and compliments her vocal performance perfectly. Alyssa Jane is a name to keep an eye on, especially with a song like this.

“E-Go,” the new single from Malaki, is out now. The Dublin rap artist’s new track features production that fuses Breakbeat music and UK Garage Rap. The emotionally driven lyrics are supported by melancholy pianos and guitars. Malaki’s strained vocals make the song feel even more direct and vulnerable, as if Malaki has no curtain to hide behind.
The blend of genres on “E-Go” reminds me of certain AJ Tracey tracks. Malaki effortlessly sings on the hook, which provides more variation when placed between the verses. Malaki’s lyrical approach and vocal tendencies help bring everything together and make the song feel like a cinematic emotional song.

“Extraterrestrial,” the new single from Big Guts Billy and Daz, is a menacing Boom Bap track that sticks true to its name. From the samples that part the verses to the clever lyrics and the bubbly synths and risers, “Extraterrestrial” couldn’t be a more fitting name for the song. The simplicity of the drums works to Big Guts Billy’s advantage as it leaves him more room to rap. But simple doesn’t mean insufficient, as the drums are heavy hitting and act as the guiding factor of the track that keeps up with Billy’s aggressive approach.
Big Guts Billy’s clever rhyming patterns are impressive and constantly evolving. Billy doesn’t need melodic vocal performances or beat switches to show he’s not constrained to any creative limits. His subtle accent provides a sense of uniqueness that’s refreshing in the current state of the genre.
“Extraterrestrial” is on our Hip Hop 2025 Playlist now.
