Autoheart’s new video for their song “Indigo Chateau” is a mind-boggling production featuring multiple people portraying dogs in a dog pound. The video opens with somebody making a deal over the phone to gain possession of one of the dogs. The leading character takes on the role of a dog that resembles a fox, and his outfit along with the choreography are reminiscent of the video for the internet sensation “What Does the Fox Say?”
“Indigo Chateau” is an anthemic Rock song laced with Disco synths and upbeat piano chords. The choreography for the video is fitting for the song’s energy, and Autoheart’s unique approach to use their video to tell a sort of short story was very clever.
The cinematic production for Jon Lindsay’s “Dear Assassin” mirrors the lyrics for the song perfectly. Cinematic sequences and camera shots are topped with innovative effects that make the video feel like scenes straight out of a movie.
My favorite part of the video is the final scene, where viewers are watching from the perspective of a bullet that’s just been shot from Lindsay’s assassin that’s referenced in the track titled. Using special effects, viewers travel through various settings from the perspective of the spinning bullet before ultimately finishing at Lindsay’s head while he sits right beside his already constructed grave.
Bird Streets’ new video for his song “Mistaker” depicts him on a mission as some sort of secret agent. While in a train station, his eyes are set on a target who he appears to have been on the lookout for. He’s after the target’s bag, in which he has a duplicate of, and stages physically bumping into the man in order to get his bag.
When he opens the bag and sees it doesn’t have what he’s looking for, he becomes disappointed. He then reports to two people who seem to be his superiors and confesses his failed attempt, to which both display mere disappointment.
The video for “Never Better” by Night Teacher is a fusion of live action shots, animations, and even illustrations. A repeating shot of an animated figure walking is layered atop ever-changing backgrounds of all sorts of natures.
Another repeating shot of Night Teacher surrounded by various cutouts of different eyes is both eerie and intriguing. The various contrasting shots that compose this video keep viewers engaged and entertained from beginning to end.
