Jack Devlin caught our attention with their new single Default Days. The songwriter embraces his assimilation to the Springsteen canon, that classic influence that connects with buzz indie superstars Sam Fender and The War On Drugs. Like them, Default Days is a convincing throwback. The emperors wear new clothes, dressing that classic feel in an indie package. We love it.

J.S. Mahlon drew us in with an emphatic pump on his new single The Wheel. Like a train the songs churning pump lands invigorating. The singer tries to make sense of it all with retrospective lyrics fit for any journey. An upbeat acoustic based triumph, The Wheel recalls an influence of Mumford and Sons and that classic indie sound.

If you love a slow build you’ll find a hero in Rumpus, the new single from Kitty of the Valley. The Australian export caught our attention with the Big Bang known to their collective work. Rumpus brings a more pensive reserved approach, while still offering explosiveness in the convincing last section. They bring a similar energy to their song Rip Myself Apart, another stand out from their new album second nature. Stylistically it marries an influence of Wolf Alice, Kings of Leon, and Florence Welsh. We’re super into it.

Melting Plants are silky smooth on their new single Float. A serene atmospheric backdrop gets immortalized by a lush vocal that immediately exports you to dream land. A nice sliding guitar solo adds an eclectic alteration in the songs closing section. Stylistically we think they effectively bridge the gap between indie folk and chill pop.
