Caden Stone nows everybody has A Shadow You’ve Trying To Shake. Indie Rock with a Gothic heart, Stone’s sound resonates with classic alternative while his voice and persona lean towards the dark arts. That emotional complexity adds a haunting tension and elegant contrast. In that way it recalls projects like Smashing Pumpkins. Like them Stone can be anthemic and leaves some space to flesh his work out in concert. We’re into it.

Most of us can relate to a song called Middle Management Asshole. You get that and more on the new release from Lunavela. The artists cleverly reflects on some sour experiences all too common to the corporate world. They inject a cheeky post punk lyrical touch to an alt rock vibe, finding the middle ground between the two worlds. It’s catchy and wildly addictive. Send this to that one friend, you know the one. Work sucks.

Enter a chaotic dream state on Secret Blue Trinket, the new single from Big Heck. Shoegaze and psych rock have a baby on this imaginative release. The chorus offered the unexpected explosiveness familiar to King Gizzard, while the verse rings like a rocked out Mazzy Star. It’s both entrancing and exhilarating, pulling at your emotions with wicked appeal. We also hear a semblance of Bends era Radiohead. We freakin dig it!

The singers magnetic presence pulls you in at the onset of Wait For Nothing, the new single from Fright Years. This convincing radio ready hit has all the makings of an indie rock breakthrough. The singer puts together an iconic performance, elegantly settling into this rock design despite her pop ability. The arrangement is effective, with every contribution adding to the sonic richness. Imagine the Yeah Yeah Yeah with a pop singer, but without cheapening any of the truth they’re known for. We love it.
