Jake Huffman is still in a musical evolution. The evidence is definitive with the release of his new single The Endofme. It seems signalling the end is just the beginning for the indie troubadour. Brought up in the shadows of jam band greatness Huffman has fully split away and embraced his indie pop heart. Recent releases scratched the surface, but the latest shows he’s got the production chops to illuminate the neon indie pop sky. It’s helping him stand out and likely drawing him comparisons to Bon Iver and that associative realm. That’s a good place to be. Well done.

At first glance Afraid, the new single from Douglas Katula, might seem too pop for what we tend to share. Quite the contrary. It’s just what we’re looking for. In fact, we’re addictive to smart pop. Afraid has some familiar movement, but Katula keeps it fresh courtesy of his convincing vocal performance. In that way he recalls artists like The 1975 and ZAYN. We dig it.

Sherakai caught our attention with their new single Satellite. From the first drop the arrangement pulls you in. The magnetism relents and releases you into a groovy verse section. Its hear that the cinematic dream world of Satellite truly shows itself. Its a swirling dose of musical ecstacy. Stylistically they bridge the gap between Rhye and Lord Huron. We can dig that.

Jack Manley spreads his wings and flys in the video for his new single Wind In A Kite. The video matches the songs catchy essence. The subtle flight-like jumps seem out of this world, and the cinematography is absolutely convincing. The songs a gem too, with Manley’s unique croon helping him stand out as a singer. Check it out.
