Best New Indie – Joe Jenneman, Hahn, Moon Beach, OLAN

Joe Jenneman takes on the Internet Shrink with his new single. The introspective dynamic indie hit lands relatable while tagging a refreshing modern influence. We hear notes of MKgee mixed with an indie folk sensibility. We also hear an inkling of Bieber of Post Malone courtesy of his urban draw. Its a testament to his vocal skill. In that manner internet shrink has it all way. The guitar part is neat and the vocals hit home. Check it out.

We dig the funky abstract chill pop essence of Bluff, the new single from Hahn. Full of melodic surprise while retaining an easy demeanor, Bluff is vibrant and fresh. Stylistically they find the middle ground between Childish Gambino and Tame Impala. Its an R&B psych fueled chill fest. Get into it.

We’re entering cold season in the Northeast. Now more than ever we need the mid-summer vibes of a song like don’t mind if I do, by Moon Beach. Their name fits the vibe. Its a cosmic foray into slacker chill vibes. Boosted by the singers dreamy appeal, they find the middle ground between Mazzy Star and Mac Demarco. We love that blend.

OLAN caught our attention with their new single Passing. Crazy catchy and dance ready, Passing has us rushing to our living room’s interpretive dance floor. The hook is a revelation, engulfing you in its serene escape. It lands addictive, as the intersecting verse asserts a vibe before the reprise. Stylistically we think it’ll connect with fans of Rhye or Sylvan Esso. It’s smart dance music. We like that.
