There’s something really special about néomí. The moniker for folk-pop singer-songwriter neomi speelman has delivered time and time again. Her latest single Another Year Will Pass revisits a current lyrical trend within her haunting canon. néomí has been waiting for the payoff, biding her time as an underground darling in advance of a Lizzie McAlpine level breakout. She’s due for big things. We’re still super high on this artist. You’re still relatively early. Hear the next Phoebe Bridges or Clairo in néomí . That’s how we see it.

Henry Grace caught our attention with their new single Things. A patient indie folk aura lands natural. Stylistically we hear elements familiar to Nick Drake or Jose Gonzalez. Its a testament to its subtle exotic folk feel within a traditional construct. The writing is thoughtful too, and absolutely approachable. We think Things sounds delightful.

Blue Tomorrows are creepy charming on their recent Owl Creek Blues. There’s a psych folk feel to this design, courtesy of the stacked hush falsetto vocals. We hear a dose of Flaming Lips and Syd era Pink Floyd. Its like the Beach Boys and MGMT had an affair. We could keep going. One things for certain, we think its fab. Have at it.

Jon LaDeau brings something old and something new into the framework for East Tennessee Wrecker. We love this kind of broken indie folk pop style. It harkens to groups like Big Thief and Phosphorescent. It doesn’t hide the scars or fragile parts of its construct. Its part of its charm and its refreshing relatability. Its a cool song too, with some vintage slides and wonky wah wah scratches to illuminate the overall vibe. We dig.
