Best New Rock – Sisters, Midwest Royal, snowblinder, Tristan Dolce

There’s something different about Sisters. The creative Liverpool based rockers have a special blend anchored by singer songwriter Jane Kero. The writing is interesting and the band performance is inspired. Their recent single Bite is an intriguing dose of indie rock brilliance. With an acoustic guitar at the forefront of the arrangement, the vibe recalls an influence of Grizzly Bear altered with Riot Girl affirmation. Dig in.

Midwest Royal knows no bounds. The eclectic project wears many colors, but our favorite version might be the pop blues brilliance of their single The Tower. Vintage throwback vibes land anthemic. Somehow they find the middle ground between The Black Keys and Edward Sharpe.

The Tower is just one of two like-minded bangers worthy of a mention. Their second, watchers, is an inspired dirty Americana soul slayer. It bears some semblance to a vibe familiar to Nathaniel Rateliff. Comparisons aside, Midwest Royal has landed into a typecast all his own. Get into it.

We adore the beautiful melodic noise showcased on drowning tutorial, the new single from snowblinder. A heavy grunge shoegaze ethos can likely draw fair comparisons to Deftones. The band likely embraces the affiliation, but they do well to make this rock moment their own. Get lost in the pretty rage.

Tristan Dolce caught our attention with his new single Eleanor. We dig a solid Americana rock composition and Eleanor fits the bill. Stylistically we hear the classic influence of Neil Young mixed with modern vibes familiar to Dawes. Its smart songwriting within insightful lyrics that land sincere. Get into ot.
