Indie Folk Discovery -River Roots, Common Loon, Steve Haley, The Crawling Eye

We love the sweet Brew River Roots brings to their new single Be Still. The inspired duo offers two polar vocal timbres that blend elegantly. Full of depth, its easy to get lost in Be Still. Stylistically we think it’ll connect with fans of Ocie Elliot while offering an added imaginative production touch to that vibe. We can dig it.

Common Loon caught our attention with their recent single Mean Time. A churning percussive bedrock resembles a travelers aura. With that as his template Common Loon navigates the swift evolutions of this intriguing progression. Its a smart folk feel with hints of world and art pop mixed into its aura. He finds the middle ground between Jose Gonzalez and Vampire Weekend. It’s super catchy.

Steve Haley ponders a Dark Soul on his new single. A sad soulful aura lands authentic on this inspired release. There’s a touch of Americana mixed with a classic folk sentiment and some indie instincts. Stylistically we think its a sure thing for fans of Jim James, The Tallest Man On Earth, and Dawes. Hear for yourself.

The Crawling Eye cleverly tag their influences at the onset of their new single You Used To Look At Me. Nostalgia evolves with dreamy reverence and retro appeal. The sweet serene vibe blends elements of folk pop and dream pop elegantly. We love this vibe.
