Trip Hop Discovery – Katy Erin, John Krasula, Lingering Tones

Katy Erin lands Trip Hop Majestic on her new single Battle Chatter. If a picture says a thousand words them her press pick (see above) should be enough to get you to press play. What you’ll find honors the brevity of that image. Erin is rich in dynamic versatility, equally sultry and swaggery with wades of pop intersected between creative fits. Both Eastern and Western auras infiltrate then retreat convincingly. Who is Erin and how did we get here? A student of the arts, Katy Erin is a television writer, actor, filmmaker, and musical artist. She was born and raised in a small town in central Texas, which perhaps contributed to her early passion for the art of escapism.

John Krasula caught our attention with his new single Erase It, which features the hypnotic vocal style of Hannah Lieb. With urban nostalgia her voice has a Jass inspired essence. That retro appeal suits Krasula’s trip hop touch, as the new single harkens to an influence of Thievery Corporation. We dig that vibe.

Lingering Tones hypnotized us again with their new single Leave It All Behind. The siren smoothness entangles you in the spirit of Sade. The lead voice is lush and entrancing beneath the music’s cinematic aura. We love that.
