Undiscovered Gems – Bleary, Amorfati, Course, Keith Carne

Bleary is explosive on their new single Foyer. A band of notable indie journey troubadours shines in both tone and texture. The two inspired voices compliment eachother as swathes of late nineties alternative penetrate their indie instincts. This is a vibe guaranteed to land hard live, but that’s just a benefit to their studio prowess. It’s a solid effort and a sure thing for fans of Boy Genius or Wednesday.

Amorfati caught our attention with their new single What If We Get Lost? Instantly catchy and relentlessly infectious, Amorafati hits a clever nerve and retains its entertaining essence to the final moment. Expertly produced and wildly inventive, the new single has the pizzaz that draws us to the works of Raye or Harry Styles.

A bossa nova indie folk cover of Come As You Are lands serene courtesy of the indie pop duo Course. “No I don’t have a gun” never sounded so sweet. Grunge adapts to bossa convincingly and Course finds a version worth returning to. They carve out their own lane with the annals of this treasured composition. Nice work!

Keith Carne stands out with their new single 37 Hours. A catchy melody suits his introspective lyrical nature as an earworm synths revolves beneath the cosmic atmosphere. Carne is admittinyl inspired in equal parts by Pharoah Sanders and Fred Again, and its implications are both interpersonal and extraterrestrial. It blends expansive droney space with propulsive dance rhythms, all strung along an indie-pop spine. We’re into it.
