“What if I feel stupid for falling in love with you.” It’s an intriguing intro to the intoxicating groove that pulls you in on the infectious verse drop. Runaway from Kylie V is a pure vibe. Indie pop bliss that captures a groove precisely between slow and upbeat, right in the middle, almost teasing you.
Their voice, equally even keeled and melodically brilliant. A fair bi-product of the Boy Genius machine with some Samia or Clairo style surprise. They even cite a trademark Clairo line in the lyrics, the admiration should be mutual. Kylie V is undeniable.

Catchy art pop and vintage soul collide on Closer, the new single from Babel. A gorgeous collective art piece, the song includes an awesome companion video (seen above) with a narrative that evolves like a classic French pop film. There’s even a trademark dance that finds context in the lyrical design. It all makes sense and it’s slightly quirky but in a way thats admirable. Babel is damn cute. The sentiment matches their stylistic aesthetic, comparable to a groovier Rhye. We freakin love it.

Already high on our radar, Jenny Kern returns with her most powerful and epic song to date. Move On is a straight hit. It’s got commercial potential with indie credo. Midnight Swift vibes collide with the underground appeal of Francis and the Lights.
Compositional surprise and a progressive design add to the drama. A nice dose of classic 80s nostalgia and direct lyricism tag Move On to a moment. Kern wrote a proper anthem to apply to your most complicated relationship, the one we’ve all know, the one we’re still not over.

Lady Anemoia strikes gold on their infectious new single California and Me. The combination of the 3/4 time sway and shimmering arrangement recalls the glorious 90s, acts like The Cranberries who still linger affectionately in our hearts. Lady Anemoia captures the aura with the updated vocal prowess of their effective singer, her vibrato an expressive rapid tremor, one fit to bring a crowd to their feet. Stylistically they add a touch of Laurel Canyon, as if Joni Mitchell had a stake in their design.
California and Me is just one feature of an eclectic collection of singles heard on their recent Ep The Hypnotist Collection. Their flair for classic nostalgia bears some dense arrangements, and offers them big potential on a festival circuit in need of new heroes.
