Music Videos We Love – Sailor Honeymoon, &Tilly, Pigeon Club, Loose Buttons

Enter the insanity of Bad Apple, the new single from Sailor Honeymoon.  The goofy vibes throughout the songs music video honor their namesake’s clever play on words.  The South Korean all girl trio makes catchy Bikini Kill style garage punk.  The vocal offers them commercial potential but we wouldn’t dare call them pop.  There’s genuine disdain and attitude to match their theatrical folly.

The track will form part of the all-girl outfit’s self-titled debut EP, announced for release May 3rd. The 8-track project was tracked live over a week in London by producer Luke Smith (Foals, Depeche, Shura) and mixed by Claudius Mittendorfer (Parquet Courts, Temples). That’s some good company to be in.  The future looks bright for Sailor Honeymoon.  Give it a gander.

&Tilly embraces their aesthetic in the trippy video for their single Greed-Eyed.  Heavy elements of 90s trip hop and electronic pop infiltrate their indie pop inspirations intriguingly.  Shot in this manner the video hauntingly reflects 90s MTV classics while carving fresh vibes within that space.

The video serves as an abstract portrait with monumental clues to chart their personality.  The mystery keeps it adaptable, as fans will find references to apply to their own complicated upbringings.  Within the realm of Kate Bush, Tori Amos, and Sneaker Pimps; &Tilly has a diverse stylistic presence.  Dig in.

A lot is revealed in the video for Liar, the new single from Pigeon Club.  Like a con this curious showman is eager to win your favor in secret desperation.  It’s the backyard dinner party you hoped to avoid, like some needy coworker with a void to fill.  He interrupts your need for a chill modest night with friends.  We adore this kind of dark comedy.  It’s a good jam too, stylistically nested within that treasured realm between Father John Misty, Wilco, and Elliot Smith.  Check it out.

If we told you the name of the song is I Saw Jon Hamm At The Beach could you conjure how the video might play out.  The new single from Loose Buttons is just as fun as the song title suggests.  The video delivers, and the song does too.  A groovy indie rock jam with new classic instincts, we hear evidence of The Shins and Wilco with some added beach pop reverence.  Man, Jon Hamm is really everywhere these days, or is he?  See for yourself.
