The catchy swagger of the beat was enough to pull us in, but it’s the voice of Marie Naffah that took us from interest to obsession. Her new single Loving You (Tenderly) sounds tailor made for her voices exotic timbre. Her aura is intoxicating courtesy of her rare eccentric lower register. Naffah alters between that mode and an energetic upper register, with backing vocals effectively illuminating the spaces in between.
Stylistically it’s a gorgeous blend of indie rock and indie pop. In that way it reflects the extended works of Sharon Van Etten and Heartless Bastards with some of the added anthemic nature known to Florence Welsh.

ANT ENOCH and Moreton caught our attention with their new collaboration Tunnel Road. The revolving design is hypnotic, with the timepiece style percussion adding to the affect.
The vocal adds a comforting essence, a sentiment thats accelerated within the bridge. There the vibe trends darker before resolving back to the safety of the verse progression. Altogether it’s an exciting cinematic experience, one that for us bridges an influence of Bon Iver and Sufjan Stevens.

Axel Flóvent seizes the moment with his inspiring new single Chasing The Night. The Icelandic songwriter recently delivered at SXSW, and curious first time fans will relish in the discovery of this new single and companion video. The video features a glorious presentation of modern dance that reflects the songs progressive acceleration and dramatic nature.
Stylistically the single bridges the gap between The 1975 and The War On Drugs, both bands who cite nostalgia convincingly within an indie inspired sensibility. We think Axel Flóvent will do the same. You’re still early.

Post Punk and Indie Pop intersect convincingly in the catchy brilliance of Sidelines, the new single from The Day. The singers catchy melodic instincts bring gorgeous contrast to the arrangement. The collective project embraces how bands like The Cure and The Smiths ascended from a punk influence while crafting undeniable hits that broke through into the mainstream.
The vibe reflects the bands own described influences, new mainstream darlings who ascended from an influence of the underground like HAIM, Lorde, and Boy Genius.
