Damn that’s catchy. We were immediately drawn into the infectious riff at the onset of Crisis, the new single from Wolfschmidt. When the vocal dropped, we were fully seduced into this vibe. The contrast is intoxicating, as the singers rare timbre gracefully soars above the rock and roll churn brewing beneath her.
It’s a hypnotic blend, and Crisis feels like a signature moment fans will hope they’ll replicate in future works. We still believe in Rock and Roll, and Wolfschmidt connects with a modern movement familiar to bands like NewDad who are giving this revival an opportunity to take over. The kids are alright.

The Young Scones find a fresh feel within a familiar alternative grunge aesthetic on their fantastic new single Bone. The band stays true to their roots while blending collateral influences elegantly. They bridge the gap between The Clash, The Stooges, and Rival Sons.
The outcome is exhilarating and notably authentic. The energy jumps out of the speakers as the recording effectively captures their in concert energy on tape. There’s even a Beatles reference leading into the guitar solo. Students of the game who know how to cut loose. Get bent.

Our adoration for shoegaze buzz band Soft No continues with the release of their new single Faker. Meant to be played loud to immerse you in its noisy harmonious brilliance, Faker features a big sound. The band delivers too, as the drums punch through the vibrant guitar layers.
Rich melodic layers stretch the melodic spectrum, as the bands piercing vocalist offers their trademark detail. Her voice gives them rare crossover potential, and helps to draw in an indie rock audience less atypical to the signature shoegaze sound. We think they’re brilliant. Soft No bridges the gap between Nothing and Alvvays.

Wasted Youth Club sounds truly Grateful. The title of their new single suits the songs explosive performance. It’s a different kind of grateful, a reflection on the chance to rage ruthlessly. It’s a glorious reckless rock and roll vibe with some fresh candid energy in tandem with some organized chaos.
The inspired singer is a revelation. A combination of classic punk and an amalgamation of everything it inspired. The band is incredibly tight too. For us it’s a more underground version of a composition familiar to The Hives or The Vines, it rips way harder.
