To know Soraia is to love them. When you’re talking about majesty and elite stage presence, look no further. The South Jersey born band is a national indie institution. They’ve won the adoration of fellow Jersey icons like Miami Steve and Bon Jovi while building a grass roots fan base the old fashioned way. The true way, by playing every show like its their last.
By throwing caution to the wind on stage. Their loyal fanbase adores their rock and roll authenticity and ferocious revival. Their founders, singer Zou Zou Mansour and bassist Travis Smith, had a unique chemistry from the start. They found their missing link at a small South Jersey venue called Hebe Music, where they first met Drummer Brianna Sig. Her intense approach to drumming offered the final touch to compliment Zou Zou’s fierce Lioness femininity. Their an inspiration for girls who want to rock. Together their taking over the world. We’re big fans. Get heavy into their new single So Holy, and then go see them in concert. You won’t regret it.

The new song from Darko’s Aufhebung is called Euler’s Fucked My Life. All of that was enough to Garner our interest, plus the detail that they recorded with legendary Philly producer Jeff Ziegler. The result did not disappoint. The new single is a vibrant shoegaze influenced alt rock banger. The tones are simply nasty, and the singer adds some dreamy contrast to compliment the big design. Its appropriately creative as most of Zieglers work defies convention. And its heavy. It’s gloriously loud and sounds furious at peak volume, but never descends into fits of noise. It’s melodically fantastic. In that way they bridge the gap between 80s alternative and modern shoegaze. Color us crazy about it.

We adore the intriguing contrast at the root of Down, the new single from Triathalon. Produced differently it could have been a groovy alt pop highlight. Some of us like things darker. Triathlon delivers. There’s a seething brooding curiosity to the vocal performance. Its lifted by the warped approach to the sonic arrangement. An altered beat pumps emphatically beneath the thoughtful layers of distorted guitars. Everything is in its right place on this vibe rich release. Creativity is awesome.
