Best New Indie Folk – Jada Di’Larosa, Sean Campbell, Pegsy

Life is a movie and Jada Di’Larosa is it’s saddest star. Her new single Showgirl is somber and mesmerizing. It’s a melancholy affliction, one that feels perfect dressed within this orchestrated piano arrangements. Its a sure thing for fans of Lana Del Rey. Jada brings a vocal performance worthy of the affiliation, or arguably better. We like this.

Sean Campbell embraces his roots on Warm (Jenna’s Song). This patient Americana throwback feels like the highlight from some dusty unsuspecting open mic. Its got an indie folk spirit and a country heart. In that way it recalls the work of alt country’s first heroes. We love that.

You can sit or sway to Say Hello Wave Goodbye, the new single from Pegsy. No matter how you take it you’ll get lost in the urban swagger of her rare voice. Her voice is rich and refreshingly classic within a new construct. Its a simple composition that feels incredibly within the gaze of her performance. She’s a revelation, like a dreamy Lake Street Dive.
