All New Rock – Say Anything, Federal Lights, Miriam Clancy, Van Chamberlain

We adore the dirty dreamy contrast heard on whaler, the new song from Wolfschmidt. The Swedish export combines elements of shoegaze and hard rock elegantly. Their lead singers lush hush delivery cuts through the vibrant noisy bedrock of thrashing tube toned guitars. Stylistically they could connect with fans of Title Fight. Nothing, or Narrowhead.

Say Something, Say Anything. The new single from Federal Lights is a classic indie rock throwback, one that blends memories of The National and REM seamlessly. Its full of emotion and nostalgic tension. We love everything about it.

Miriam Clancy takes on an obscure indie highlight with her recent I Love My Leather Jacket. It’s a timely homage to The Chills following underground icon’s Martin Phillips passing. Clancy gives this jam some fresh indie punk attitude with a churning design that recalls Jesus and Mary Chain. We dig it!

Van Chamberlain finds summer spirit in the rhythmic magnetism on The Right Line. They alter that influence with an emo indie vocal style and new wave reverence. They blend the realms of Elliot Smith and DIIV. We love that feeling.
