Tricky FM is the music project and “electronica star” alter ego of Hana Freed. Based out of San Francisco, she self produces all her own music. On stage, Tricky FM is known for her energetic and almost performance-art interpretation of the ‘pop star’. We dig this performance art aesthetic The DJ to pop shift appears to be working for Hana, and the new single Apartment could be her first hit. Stylistically we hear shades of of Charli XCX with subtle nods to cinematic synthwave. We love that blend.

Natalie Nicoles has a new single called Fruit of the Sorrow, and it was co-written with James McAlister (The National, Sufjan Stevens). Trippy waves of production bring tickling texture as Natalie’s lush vocal permeates the atmosphere. Electricity morphs into the groove of the natural drum kit effortlessly as the songs builds into its full shape. Stylistically Nicoles is likely to meet comparisons to Radiohead or Bon Iver. Its a fair assessment but it only touches the surface of her vibe rich essence.
