With the politics of Israel thrust to the forefront of geopolitical conversation, it’s hard to remember that the legacy of this culture extends beyond war.  Israel’s rich performance art legacy is reinstated by Yemen Blues, as he amplifies his artistic roots emphatically in the video for their new single People.

Bringing people together and embracing diversity with vitality is at the forefront of this joyous film.  It’s easy to see that this was made out of love, something we can all use a lot of right now.  Be inspired.

Manuel Polin is a Mexican folk artist living in France.  His new single Santo y Elegia pays homage to his Mexican roots while reflecting dark images relative to the occult.  Influenced by freak folk artists like Devendra Barhart, as well as art filmmakers like Adan Jodorowsky (Holy Mountain), Polin initiates a complex paranormal conversation with this kind of work. 

Filmmaker Myrtille Moniot elegantly puzzles together visual fragments in a way that’s entertaining and engaging while still leaving room for the actors to shine.  It’s just one major detail of this projects collective genius.  See for yourself.

Rosalie James quarrels with her ego in the video for her new single Soft Target.  The songs anthemic infectious nature suits Rosalie’s magnetic persona.  The narrative plays with her insecurities while the video amplifies her grace at the throes of confusion.  She might not understand why or how but she embraces what this moment offers.  The video makes it feel like Soft Target’s about embracing your truth, even if it’s not easy.
