Best New Indie – Port Louix, Kynsy, Waash, Harris Mac

We were entranced by the chill groovy brilliance of Mild Wild, the new single from Port Louix.  The vibe is true to its namesake. Mild Wild begs you to dance despite its soft delicate design.  Every sound is careful in how it invites you to sway in tandem with its infectious nature, but what it offers upon acceptance is an effective snap for you to whiplash with inspired conviction.

Stylistically it connects with the spirit of projects like Rhye and The XX. Port Louix add their own rhythmic flavor signature touch to that aesthetic. We can dig it.

A damn good indie rock song that’s refreshingly catchy and full of indie pop contrast, Irish based recording artist Kynsy plays it both ways on her convincing new single Money

Our description is a testament to the her vocal timbre within this spirited vibe.  As a singer her control might be soothing enough to bless a modern indie folk vibe, but she adapts it righteous to honor Money’s upbeat nature by pushing her voice just enough to pierce through the vibrant layers.

The arrangement honors that effort with stylized flair.  Her guitar work is impressive, alternating between tempered chaos and dreamy harmonious.  A true recording artist who produces her own works, Kynsy is a major indie artist to watch.

Waash – It’s A Lie

WAASH elegantly blends the aura of modern psych pop with the legacy of soulful yacht rock on their infectious new single It’s A Lie.  The delectable arrangement is full of flirtatious sonic treats which tickle the atmosphere and  offer fun percussive surprise.

The seductive duet accentuates the cool, with each voice embracing their easy going nature.  The alternate timbres add to the moments cinematic essence.  If only Steely Dan and Tame Impala had a baby and raised her on Fleetwood Mac.  Hear for yourself.

Harris Mac squeezes the Honey out of dire circumstances on their inspired new release.  Offering that the song is about rebirth and self love despite life’s past failures. Considering the circumstance Harris Mac thrives with grace.

Creativity is liberating, and Harris Mac knows music offers more beyond new maladaptive vanities.  It’s part of this new single’s charm, and the acquired feeling is genuine.  It’s a reflection of the artists performance and that sense of relief heard in their voice.

Beyond the feeling Honey is produced elegantly, with stylized production that adds to the trippy euphoria known to an existential breakthrough. Stylistically the singers style could draw comparisons to Frank Ocean while the production resonates with the creative exploits of Childish Gambino.
