psykhi has both killers jams and unique style. It’s heard on their new single Dyed In Wool and seen on the stylistic companion video, one that only needs a bare background to showcase the bands naturally stylistic aesthetic. We can’t say it enough, psykhi has style! Dyed In Wool is catchy with some art punk flash that bridges the gap between Dehd and Del Water Gap.
Born in Ghana and brought up in London, Music has always been at the forefront of their life’s journey. With dynamic influences ranging from Nirvana to Elton John to Wizkid to Shakespeare, psykhi admittingly adapts with every new pop culture obsession. He’s not afraid to wear his influences on his sleeve, but for us, he brings a style all his own. In regards to his persona, he offers
“Born Jeptha Asiamah — Jeff for short — it wasn’t until his mind was blown by the psychedelia of Tame Impala’s ‘Currents’ that he found the name, and the brazenly introverted persona, that is psykhi. “

Sugar Nova gets a remix for their infectious indie pop single Tiny Helicopters from none other than jackLNDN. The intriguing sonic design brings refreshing innovation and contrast to the overall composition. This is how we imagine Sylvan Esso might sound if they were produced by Thom Yorke. The Tiny Helicopters remix balances sweet melodic moments with dark abstract cinematic movements, the result is truly exhilarating.
Stylistically the indie pop essence still rings strong, with the single retaining radio potential in the manner that Lana Del Rey’s early remixes offered her a chance to showcase herself to a wider audience. Parallel to Lana, Rachel Eisenstat has her own exotic delivery full of mystery and mischief, as if she’s teasing you or has some hidden intention. We find her to be a smart seductive, pulling at your curiousity out of acquired interest. Sugar Nova also includes none other than Luke Miller of the band Lotus. Besides his penchant for catchy bass heavy music, he’s also an industry music vet who cut his teeth on helping create an incredible live music experience. You can guarantee Sugar Nova will melt your face in concert.

Thief Motif continue to deliver infectious upbeat indie pop anthems. Their recent Speed Trap has a swift island inspired tempo design to compliment the melodic vocal arrangement. They adapt an influence of Vampire Weekend, injecting harmonies that add to the melodic drama. The contrast of the energetic furious drum part and the elegant harmonies is exhilarating.
The fury relents in a half time groove that showcases how their jams might adapt live. Featuring a rare savory organ solo, the vocalist reaches for the highest notes in his range. Dare we say we hear a dose of Greta Van Fleet in that inspired moment. We can dig it.

The 7 years goals. It’s the unwritten rule that suggests friendships that last beyond 7 years last a lifetime. It’s a charming sentiment, and the subject of the new single from Merritt Gibson. The song embodies the memories it took to get there while mirroring the anxiety that comes with growth, knowing that new eras could mean new friends.
For us, Gibson has penned a teenage anthem, one that captures the spirit known to youths most cherished pop classics. Both stylistically and thematically it connects with recent releases by none other than Taylor Swift, with some of the indie spirit known to artists like Holly Humberstone. Gibson shares their star potential and sheer magnetism. The Nashville based songwriter is an impending indie pop breakthrough with mainstream potential. Say you heard her first.
