Miranda Parkin is a freedom fighter. The animator is at the forefront of a challenged industry largely taken over by AI. One of her most recent projects is the video for Full Moon Factory, the new song from The Capsules. Elegantly stylistic and embracing a cool comic book aesthetic; the new video is complete with dark moody seasonal themes and a fun narrative. It effectively compliments the bands cool retro rock style.
It must be October because videos full of Monsters and Mayhem are flooding our inbox. Some are downright awesome. Such is the case for Sleep Nation and their rework of the glorious 80s pop classic MANEATER. We really dig the clever way they adapted the tune, and Frankenweird video is top notch. Well done!
There’s a rare nostalgic essence to the sound of Moon Darling. Between their writing style and the singers unique strained tenor, you can’t help but hear an influence of 70s prog hard rock bands like Journey and Styx. They adapt that influence with a blues glam indie touch, and they amplify it with their stylistic threads. Add a little noir film touch and some David Lynch style dream aesthetic, and you’ve got a winner in their new video for Hearts to Blame
Amiture music keeps you guessing in the video for their single Idela (feat. Eliana Glass). It’s a little sick and sad but also fairly compelling. You’ve got to give it to the video’s lead Hanna Gabbler, she’s a convincing combination of crazy and possessed. The mundane is truly poison, and the soundtrack fits the crisis. Be careful out there…
