Put the Australian band STAND ATLANTIC on your map. Addictive songwriting gets accentuated by an energizing live show and superstar charisma. The energy shines through with magnetic precision in the video for their new single NEXT2U. Their the pop punk rock Paramore you’ve been looking for. Australia now, but soon THE WORLD!
Maddie Zahm has a smoky timbre and lucid indie pop instincts. She gives that and all her attention to Meryl in both song and video. Its simple but effective, and its classic. A little charming and refreshingly corny, Zahm knows the difference between infatuation and real love. She’s poking fun and giving her complicated indie pop essence some necessary contrast. Well done.
Tower Defense chooses to share the spotlight in the entertaining variety show theme video for their single Stop, I Think I’ve Heard This One Before. The music is solid and provides an effective backdrop for the goofy substance, but you’ll be left wanting more. Wer’e reminded of the cult classic YouTube vid Dueling VHS. Both reiterate that classic television was very interesting. Hats off to the talent: Performances provided by The Sparkle Sisters, Trent Baskum, Zunky Joska, Tappin’ Turner, Barb Rosencrance, Sensei Ron Davenport, Tommy & Little Terrance, Split Queen Tina Chumsky, Dr. Bob The Mentalist, “Swiftwrist” Maroney, Burt Rosencrance, Magpie and Tower Defense
Founder and principal songwriter Jade Lilitri and guitarist Eddy Rodriguez are making some great music as oso oso. Drifting from emo punk into an acoustic side project, Lilitri eventually found indie rock bliss within the oso oso canon. A combination of real life experience and metaphorical cartoon reimaginings both lurk in the foreground of the projector collages that play behind portrait shots of Jade and Eddy’s performances in the neat video for their single it’s all bait.
